Poor RFC aiman

In opening this new blog I was trying to think, what first post could I make. It came to me that some long forgotten event of little relevance to any one today, yet important at some date gone by time might be appropriate.

So here goes.
In January 1915 an air mechanic of the Royal flying Corps was hit and killed by a taxi cab on Hyde Park corner in London. The Taxi failed to stop. The inquest concluded a verdict of manslaughter with the comment that it was hoped that the errant taxi driver would bear the terrible burden in his breast of his conduct.
It seems a shame that similar such events still occure today nearly 100 years on.
Next time you pass Hyde Park Corner spare a thought for that poor dead airman long dead
